Brace Yourselves!

Over the next week or two, I’m going to be migrating to a new dedicated server. While I really don’t expect any major downtime (since I’ve done this far too many times previously), there’s always that 25% random chance of technology smiting you in the process…

Should something explode during this process, don’t panic (like you would anyway, right?). Just give it a few minutes and try again.

Also note that both email and posting will probably be light while I’m spending a fair chunk of my time migrating data. I promise you, I shall return!

Yet Another Plugin…

This time it’s for other plugin developers out there, so most of you probably won’t find it of interest.

I just posted over on Incoherent Code, my code site, about my latest addition to the WordPress plugin community. This time, it’s a simple plugin (204 lines of code, whereas Akismet+ is over 1,600) that sits on your blog and answers ?update= requests, providing a text-only response of the latest version of your plugins.

Just activate the plugin, enter your products in the admin panel it creates, and let your plugins check for updates as often as they like, all thanks to the power of WordPress.

Check it out over on the project page at Incoherent Code if you want more details or a quick download.

BTW: This is the plugin I’m using for Akismet+ (v. 2.4+) to check for updates.
