Exalead

I found a link to Exalead through The Office Weblog (original source: Seth’s Blog).

On the surface, I’m impressed by the insane amounts of space they’ve wasted on their initial search page.

Once you dig a little deeper, you can find some interesting features. Not only do they make a good use of available page space for search results, but they have some advanced sorting features not available through other search engines.

Unfortunately, after you do a few searches, it looks like Exalead’s using an old Google database. I guess you can’t expect too much originality out of anyone these days…

Overall, this is pretty useless for now, but has the potential to grow into something extraordinary.
